During the manufacturing process of cold working molds, the commonly used metal materials and processing techniques each have their own characteristics. In terms of metal materials, alloy tool steels such as Cr12MoV steel and CrWMn steel possess properties like high hardness and high wear resistance, and are suitable for complex and precision molds. High-speed steels have high hardness and excellent red hardness, and are often used for molds under harsh working conditions. Cemented carbides, due to their extremely high hardness and compressive strength, are mostly used for mold components with extremely high requirements for wear resistance and other aspects. Regarding the processing techniques, first of all, forging is carried out to improve the internal structure of the metal material, making it more compact and uniform. Then annealing treatment is performed to eliminate the internal stress generated during forging, which is conducive to subsequent processing. Next comes mechanical processing, which is divided into rough machining and finish machining, gradually processing the material into the shape that meets the design requirements. After that, heat treatment is carried out to significantly improve the material properties to meet the requirements of the mold's working conditions. Finally, surface treatment is carried out to further improve the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties of the mold, thus prolonging its service life. All these links work together to ensure the quality of cold working molds.
